B-127 scans a nearby 1967 yellow Volkswagen Beetle before collapsing from his injuries. When B-127 refuses to reveal Optimus's whereabouts, Blitzwing tears out his voice box and damages his memory core, prompting B-127 to kill the Decepticon with one of his own missiles. B-127 scans a Willys MB jeep and flees to a nearby mine, where he is ambushed by the Decepticon Blitzwing. Colonel Jack Burns presumes B-127 to be hostile and orders his men to attack the Autobot.
B-127 reaches Earth and crash-lands in California, disrupting a training exercise by Sector 7, a secret government agency tasked with monitoring extraterrestrial activity on Earth. Decepticon forces led by Starscream, Soundwave, and Shockwave intercept the Autobots during their evacuation, and Optimus sends Autobot scout B-127 to Earth in an escape pod to set up a base of operations while he stays behind to fend off the Decepticons. On the planet Cybertron, the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, are on the verge of losing their war against the Decepticons and prepare to evacuate the planet. A sequel, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, was released in June 2023. Despite being the lowest-grossing installment of the franchise the film was a box office success, grossing $468 million worldwide against a production budget between $102–135 million. The film received positive reviews from critics, which praised its action sequences, Steinfeld's performance, Knight's direction, visuals, and the 1980s setting. Principal photography on the film began on July 31, 2017, in Los Angeles and San Francisco, California.īumblebee premiered on December 3, 2018, at the Sony Center in Berlin, and was released in the United States on December 21, by Paramount Pictures.

It is the sixth installment in the Transformers live-action film series, serving as a spin-off movie and a reboot for the live action film franchise. However, fans of the original cartoon series and animated movie were never really happy with what Paramount kept putting out. The Transformers live-action films were big screen spectacles and earned major box office cash with the first few installments. The studio seems to be going back to earn the respect of the hardcore fans that have been there all along, but were dissatisfied with the way that the live-action franchise was handled over the years. While the future is uncertain, the hype for Bumblebee is considerable, and could very well see a brand-new direction for the franchise that takes a look at what drew original fans to cartoon and toy line to begin with.
Transformers: The Last Knight's box office failure is the movie that put the franchise on hold for the time being. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug. On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. And of course let's not our forget a red semi-truck transforming leader Optimus Prime on Cybertron.and is that Soundwave? Like, really Soundwave?
Blitzwing, a Decepticon seeker who transforms into a red/white McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II and Barricade, a Decepticon scout. Dropkick, a Decepticon triple-changer who transforms into a blue AMC Javelin and a Bell AH-1 SuperCobra. Shatter, a Decepticon triple-changer who transforms into a red Plymouth Satellite and a Harrier Jump Jet. Transformers fans have to be super pumped on the fact that we're now seeing clear looks at 80s versions of these characters.
